PC vs MAC

The Battle continues in the war between PC V's Mac and we doubt it will ever end!

There is no written law on what kind of computer you should have however we bring you the advantages and disadvantages of both these computers and let you draw your own conclusions based on your needs. There will be no winner or loser in this battle!

Just like Betamax vs VHS, Hover vs Mower, Coke vs Pepsi, the Mac vs PC debate continues even though many believe that the PC has won hands down. The batte  between Windows and Mac OS software has been raging for well over a decade, ever since the original Apple computer, which was released in 1981. Since this time the personal computer has gone through something of a revolution.

Both operating systems rely on trusted vendor software, it is not the hardware which dictates how useful a computer is but the software!

People use computers to complete tasks that have an end result, and that result depends up on the software used and not particularly on how great your hardware is.  It used to be the case that most people found using Windows more convenient because there was more software written for that operating system however, as the Mac increases in popularity due to its easier functionality and the growing popularity of alternative operating systems, such as Linux, many software vendors are  writing programme versions for more than just Windows.

Magazine and newspaper industries have traditionally relied on Mac's due to main high-end graphics software titles which were made for the Apple computer. This without doubt is down to the Mac having a user interface more suited for graphics professionals and due to Apple's policy to make desktop publishing simpler.
The initial major complaint against Mac's was that there wasn't enough software for home users, now that more software is available and the growing number of titles expands monthly, there is no excuse to say there isn't the choice for Mac's anymore.

In the early days, Macs seemed to win-over the novices, as they found a Mac easier to figure out. The graphical user-interface is simple and intuitive helped by the plug and play method of setting up. All you needed to get online was the machine out of the box, plug it into the phone line, and presto!
Installing the OS also seems painless (nor forgetting that there is no blue-screen-of-death!).

Today, Windows has been updated to be equally as user friendly; although Vista is in it's early stages we have found it be popular with novice users.

So that's it in a nutshell. The Mac v PC debate is coming to an end as it is what you do with your computer that is important.

Mac's look nice but for upgradeable performance the PC goes from strength to strength and offer a more than adequate, and in some cases better, alternative.

For us at WM Tech we will always be PC based users, it does exactly what we require it to do.

Please remember that these reviews are always great to carry on within the forum and for those of you who wish to do so then please start up a topic and lets carry on the debate.
